Over 4000 guests from all over the world at the BIO-Europe congress in Leipzig

From 24 to 26 October 2022, Leipzig is hosting BIO-Europe, one of the world’s largest biotech congresses. More than 4000 guests from all over the world are expected to meet and network at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL). After travelling to Berlin, Copenhagen and Hamburg from 2017 to 2019, the partner conference is taking place in Leipzig for the first time.

The physical conference will be supplemented by a digital programme in the following week from 2 to 4 November. This is an opportunity to arrange a second round of virtual partnering meetings and to focus on particular congress topics as needed. In addition, all sessions taking place live in Leipzig will be available online shortly afterwards.

BIO-Europe is an international forum to promote business development between pharmaceutical, financial and biotech companies. The spectrum of participating businesses ranges from small start-ups with just a few people to international corporations. Issues affecting the biotech industry are discussed during presentations and individual talks. Biopharma and investment companies come together to find new business opportunities and develop strategic relationships.

As an up-and-coming biotech region, Leipzig is a suitable venue for this. The foundation stone was laid back in 2000 with Saxony’s “biotechnology offensive”. To this day, Leipzig continues to flourish as an economically successful city in this field. At the same time, Leipziger Messe offers the necessary facilities for an event of this scale and is a pioneer when it comes to sustainable meetings and events. In 2009, it was the first trade fair company to be certified according to Green Globe standards. Renewed annually, this rating is a guarantee of sustainable standards and systematic resource conservation.

After Leipzig, the next BIO-Europe conference in 2023 will be held in Munich.
